Where in the world is Rodger Sherman?

I’m often asked, ‘Seth, where do I turn to for high-quality sports content and in-depth comedic analysis of The Bachelor?’ Luckily for them I have the answer:

The Ringer’s Rodger Sherman.

My brother and I have followed along with Rodger for quite some time now. During busy weeks when there’s no time to watch The Bachelor, we simply read Rodger’s recap and, let’s be honest here, it’s just as good and less time consuming. We’ve followed along so much that we even notice when he goes off the grid. Like he did from April 5 to April 13, according to his Ringer author page.

So where in the world did Rodger Sherman go? Our best bet? Facing burnout from covering the 2022 Beijing Olympic games and March Madness, he packed his bags and went on vacation. Classis Rodger.

Now, we’re not vacation shaming here, as Australia’s Bob Katter said, “let there be a thousand blossoms bloom,” we just genuinely want to know — where did you go, Rodger? Content is king, and if we’re not getting our content we want to know it was worth it.

Here’s our top four guesses at where Rodger might’ve gone.

Beijing, China

What’s a better way to recover from Olympic coverage than by going to the Olympic site and visiting the man-made slopes covered with man-made snow?

Reykjavík, Iceland

While surly no one was rooting for Clayton to self-sabotage his journey to find love, it certainly created entertaining television. And as we all know, entertaining television leads to entertaining Rodger Sherman articles. We think Rodger might’ve flown to Iceland to walk the steps that Clayton walked, much like one would visit New Zealand to walk the path to Mordor.

Jersey City, New Jersey

Everyone admired the unreal run St. Peters went on in the 2022 NCAA tournament, but perhaps no one more than Rodger Sherman. Did Rodger go back to Jersey City to visit his beloved Peacocks? Did anyone tell him that Doug Edert transferred to Bryant? Is Rodger doing okay?

New Haven, Connecticut

No offense to New Haven, Connecticut, but why in the world would anyone vacation to New Haven, Connecticut?

To visit the gravesite of Founding Father Roger Sherman of course.

It’s possible Rodger felt drawn to his namesake and went to Grove Street Cemetery to pay his respects, but we won’t know for sure until Rodger speaks up about his absence. But no pressure, Rodger. We’re here when you’re ready.

I’ll leave you with some fun facts about Roger Sherman, pulled straight from Wikipedia:

  • “He is the only person to sign all four great state papers of the United States.”
  • “At 66 years of age, Sherman was the second eldest member at the [Constitutional] convention following Benjamin Franklin (who was 81 years old at the time).”
  • “The town of Sherman, Connecticut was named for Roger Sherman.”
